Windows 10 Not searching Files or Folders from Task bar , possible cause for this could be :Cortana got stuck somewhere Or your PC's index became all mixed up.
There are several solutions to this problem As follows:
Step 1: Restart your computer and if restarting your computer does not solve your problem follow step 2.
Step 2: End Cortana’s Process and to end Cortana’s Process follow these Steps as given below
Note:Ending Cortana's process in Task Manager might just do the trick. After ending the process, it will automatically restart almost immediately.
- Right-click the Start button.
2.Click Task Manager
3.Click Cortana. (You might have to scroll down a bit to find it.)
4.Click End Task.
Note:if Restarting Cortana do not solve your Problem follow Step 3
Step 3: Restart Windows Explorer:
- Right-click the Start button.
- Click Task Manager.
- Click Windows Explorer
- Click Restart
Step 4: if Restarting windows explorer doesn't work Use windows Trouble shooter to restore Indexing Services:
- Hit Windows+R shortcut Key to open run window.
- Type control panel and hit enter
- Click Troubleshooting.
- Click System and security
- Right Click System and Security and run as administrator
- Click Next and trouble shooter will Run.
- Click the checkbox next to any problem you are encountering,in this you should choose files don’t appear in Search result .
- Click Next
