Best practices: New Tenant creation for a customer

The checklist for new tenant creation are as follows:


Before we start the tenant creation process, we have the following information:


Pre-requisites:


1. Customer details:


Customer Company Name*

 

Customer Address Line 1*

 

Customer Address Line 2*

 

Customer City*

 

Customer Pin-Code*

 

Customer State*

 

Contact Person Name*

 

Contact Person Phone No*

 

Primary Domain Name*

 

Email ID*

 

GST Number* (if applicable)

 

Domain for email ids

 

 


2. MCA Acceptance: Customer has to log in from global admin https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home?ref=/BillingAccounts/agreement


3. Confirm if the tenant creation process is to be completed for a manager or licensing team?


Once you have got the information mentioned above, you need to start the tenant creation process:


Step 1: Create a ticket at cloud.foetron.com for tenant creation:


Subject: Microsoft Tenant Initiation and Activation


Dear, 


I am the support professional assigned to create your tenant. I need to work with you to confirm the following information and also, we need to confirm the tenant name to complete the process. Do not that the tenant name can not be changed at a later stage. 


Customer Company Name*

 

Customer Address Line 1*

 

Customer Address Line 2*

 

Customer City*

 

Customer Pin-Code*

 

Customer State*

 

Contact Person Name*

 

Contact Person Phone No*

 

Primary Domain Name*

 

Email ID*

 

GST Number* (if applicable)

 

Domain for email ids

 

 

Also, while creating this, I will work with you to finalize the tenant name. 



Step 2: Take confirmation from the customer on the tenant's name. 


Dear, 


Thank you. 


We have activated the tenant name selected by you as ___________.onmicrosoft.com


Regards


Step 3: Create an admin ID for the user and one Microsoft ID for your own purpose.






Step 4: Assign the required roles to the Admin ID.



Step 4: Create a Support Card / Helpdesk Card on the tenant. Check the step by step guide to do the same.


Step 5: Enable CSP access. Check the step-by-step guide. 


Step 6: Enable the audit logs on the tenant. Check the step-by-step guide. 


Step 7: As part of the migration plan, work on domain verification and configuration. In this process ensure that you have SPF records created. 


Step 8: Post-migration and user activation you need to configure the spam filter. Check the step-by-step guide.  



NOTE (Imp): (i) After completing the following steps for updating the help desk do not forget to remove the license from the Microsoft ID. (ii) Ensure that a 2-Factor is enabled at 9811474843
