- How to Back Up Your Encryption Key
You should back up that encryption key to a separate device, because if that key is ever lost or damaged, you won't be able to access your encrypted files.
- Follow The Steps To Backup Your Encryption Key
- Open The Folder You Encrypted
- Right Click The Encrypted File (Encrypted File Shows Lock Icon On It)
- Select Advance Tab
- Select Details
- Select The User For Which You Want To Backup Encryption Key
- It Will Activate the Backup Key radio Button.
- Click On Backup Key Radio Button, Backup Key Wizard Will Popup.
*Backup Keys Are Stored In Form Of Certificates with Extension Of .Pfx
- Click Next
- Check The Box With Export All Extended Properties
- Provide The Name For Your Backup Key And Select The Location. *Never Store Encryption in Key On Same Pc
- Click Next
- Click Finish & You Are Done With Backup Of Your Encryption Key.
