  • How to Back Up Your Encryption Key


You should back up that encryption key to a separate device, because if that key is ever lost or damaged, you won't be able to access your encrypted files. 

  • Follow The Steps To Backup Your Encryption Key


  • Open The Folder You Encrypted




  • Right Click The Encrypted File (Encrypted File Shows Lock Icon On It)




  • Select Advance Tab 




  • Select Details



  • Select The User For Which You Want To Backup Encryption Key



  • It Will Activate the Backup Key radio Button.




  • Click On Backup Key Radio Button, Backup Key Wizard Will Popup.



*Backup Keys Are Stored In Form Of Certificates with Extension Of .Pfx



  • Click Next


  • Check The Box With Export All Extended Properties



  • Provide The Name For Your Backup Key And Select The Location. *Never Store Encryption in Key On Same Pc



  • Click Next



  • Click Finish & You Are Done With Backup Of Your Encryption Key.
