Virtual node on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

The virtual node capability allows you to deploy workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service without the need to manage additional infrastructure or deal with temporary capacity needs. This can result in considerable cost savings for cloud native applications as you can quickly provision on demand and pay per second instead of paying for infrastructure that would mostly remain not utilized.
